Anniversary Gift Ideas

My husband appreciates practical gifts. He s much like his grandfather who would be giddy when we d give him bungie cords. You can never have too many bungie cords!

That s all fine and good for THEM. But, I certainly do not want anything practical for an anniversary gift. No blenders, no socks, no vacuum cleaners. He d better get something special or he ll be hearing about it for years to come.

Now, before you think I m some gold-digger, that gift does not need to be expensive. I just want a gift that had some thought put into it.

Here are some ideas for the men out there who are about to have their secretaries pick up a little something for the wife for our anniversary . I may just save your marriage, or at least keep you out of the doghouse this anniversary.

Expensive Option:

Plan a trip to relive your honeymoon. Find out where you stayed, which restaurants you ate in, and book a trip to go do it all again. Walking hand-in-hand through the same streets as you did years ago will definitely be a special anniversary for your wife.

Less Expensive Option:

Find a Priest, Pastor, or friend and gather your friends together at a park or in your church. Renew your marriage vows to your wife to show her you d marry her all over again.

Last Minute, Most Affordable Option:

Gather as many photos as you can of your time with your wife. From dating through your engagement, your wedding, the birth of your children, to the current day. Turn these cherished photos into a DVD movie presentation or into a hardbound book. There are services online where you can do this quickly and easily. Heck, you can even have your kids help you put it together.

Free Option:

Write her a card, telling her how much she means to you or sing her a song. It doesn t cost a cent and she ll love you for it!

It s not about the amount of money you spend. It is truly about the thought that you put into the gift. So, start thinking now how you can wow your wife. She definitely deserves it.

Dinner & movie
Yesterday was our 9th wedding anniversary. We don’t ususally do much to celebrate, often because we are too busy working. However, we decided to do dinner and a movie this year. Our friend was actually free to watch the kids for us on short notice- thanks again Suzy. We went to see Sherlock Holmes. It was pretty good. The cinematography was great. However, it was also distracting in places. This movie was filmed in the modern action method where they do a bunch of quick takes from lots
